MedNet Safety Software Integrates Successfully With Connexall Alarm Management and Event Notification

Alert forwarding between ICU Medical IV smart pumps and Connexall alarm management enabled by ICU Medical MedNettm safety software helps to strengthen hospitals' efforts to improve patient safety.

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. - March 6, 2018 - ICU Medical, Inc., a worldwide leader in the development, manufacture and sale of innovative medical devices used in infusion therapy and critical care applications, and Connexall, the industry leader in alarm management and event notification, ranking number one in the 2018 Best in KLAS awards, today announced successful integration of ICU Medical MedNet safety software with Connexall alarm management and event notification platform solution. Integration of MedNet and Connexall allows hospitals to transmit and selectively filter the secondary alarms coming from ICU Medical's line of IV smart infusion pumps, including the Plum 360TM and LifeCare PCA7TM.

Integration of ICU Medical MedNet safety software and Connexall alarm management and event notification platform allows clinicians to prioritize which alarms they wish to have forwarded based upon various parameters they choose.

Plum360 "We are proud to include Connexall as a part of our growing list of connectivity partners. By integrating with alert management software, we can expand the clinician's visibility to infusion delivery, help with response times and support quiet hospital initiatives,'' said Matthew Hutchings, senior director of ICU Medical IV Informatics. "When combined with the accuracy of data and secondary infusion alarming of the 2018 Best in KLAS Plum 360, we are delivering a winning combination of technologies." The core function of this integration allows a network-based alarm message from an infusion pump to be forwarded to Connexall for intelligent routing based upon customized workflows. Secondary alerting and distribution will serve to extend clinical awareness, improve response times and reveal innovative ways to reduce alarm fatigue.

"We are pleased to collaborate with ICU Medical to provide this crucial integration to hospitals," stated David Tavares, CEO of Globestar/Connexall. "Our customers frequently request delivery of time-sensitive notifications to mobile care givers from their infusion devices. Through this collaboration, we are now able to meet that critical need," continued Tavares.
